I grew up in Toronto and knew I wanted to be an orthodontist when I got my first retainer – when I was nine years old!
I attended the University of Toronto, where I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1998. This was followed by an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry/Eastman Department of Dentistry. Continuing my education, I then attended Boston University, completing an Advanced Graduate Study in Orthodontics and
Dentofacial Orthopedics. I have practiced orthodontics since 2001.
Staying up-to-date on the latest innovations and technology in orthodontics is core to my commitment to patients. They deserve the best treatment experience and results! Each year I complete many hours of continuing education, through my active memberships with Dental and Orthodontic Colleges and Associations.
Outside the office, much of my time is spent with my family. My wife, Dr. Riva Black, who is an Oral Pathologist, was my high school sweetheart. We have four children, ranging from middle school to university age. We are all athletic and love spending time together, whether we’re training or just hanging out!
